Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy in Harrogate and the surrounding areas

For more than 25 years, I worked in education in Leeds, a career I valued deeply. Much of my time was spent in pastoral and leadership roles, supporting children, families and colleagues through times of change, challenge and uncertainty.
Over time, I became increasingly interested in what sits beneath the things we experience — our thoughts, emotions, beliefs and experiences, and the ways these can shape how we see ourselves and the world around us.
I found myself drawn towards the therapeutic side of my work and realised that this was where my real passion lay. I trained as a hypnotherapist and discovered how powerful it can be to help people recognise their own strengths, develop new perspectives and make positive changes.
I’m now continuing my professional development through Level 5 training in person-centred psychotherapeutic counselling, building on my experience and deepening my understanding of the therapeutic process.
Making the decision to leave a career I had known for so long was not easy. But it felt important to listen to that feeling that there was something else I wanted to do — something that felt meaningful, purposeful and truly aligned with who I am.
And so, this next chapter began.
I believe that therapy should feel like a safe space to be yourself. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come through the door, and you certainly don’t need to know exactly what you need.
I take a warm, compassionate and person-centred approach, recognising that everyone has their own experiences, circumstances and reasons for seeking support. I won’t tell you how you should feel or what you should do. Instead, I’ll work alongside you to explore what is happening for you, develop greater understanding and identify the changes that feel right for you.
I offer solution-focused hypnotherapy. This approach focuses on where you would like to get to, building on your strengths and helping you make positive changes in a way that feels manageable and meaningful to you. Where appropriate, I can draw on hypnotherapy as part of our work together, tailoring the approach to what feels right for you.
For me, the relationship between therapist and client is incredibly important. Feeling listened to, understood and accepted can be the beginning of change in itself.
I work from my private practice in Harrogate, supporting people across Yorkshire, and also offer online therapy to clients further afield.
